Grunt Style & Swords of Lightning!

     We are honored to partner with Grunt Style in the production of these time-limited t-shirts. When we connected with the design team at Grunt Style, we had an interest in designing a shirt that was reflective of our team, military experience and our mission post 9/11. The Grunt Style team did a fantastic job capturing some of the key elements we felt were important to include in the graphics. As a result, they came back with the two designs shown.

     The "We Ride" shirt with the twelve horsemen represent the men of ODA595 riding horseback while conducting combat operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The twelve stars below the horsemen represent the twelve men who serve in a Special Forces Operational Detachment - Alpha.

     The skull & shield t-shirt picture three lightning bolts which reflect Special Forces' way of infiltration: land, sea or air and are also present in our book title "Swords of Lightning". The lightning bolts represent a mythical Uzbek tale that Gen. Dostum related to the team members of ODA595: 12 avenging angels who wielded magical lightning swords in battles against their enemies to liberate the populace from tyranny.
